Project Improve & change app platform to website

Overview

In 2019 DailySocial.id product team have build judge platform for Hackathon and Incubation competition, called is Scora. They build a platform for android version only. In 2021, our team get feedback from business team several judge not use android device and make effect the platform can’t used in bundling package (business effect). After live, in the end 2 client have use Scora for judge the competition (Curation & Final stage).

The Problem

The platform started with android version only. In 2021, our team get feedback from other team:

Business team → several judge not use android to judge the event, that matter effect from client not use Scora for judge the event.

From event team → can’t have guide to use the platform. Because, sometimes have different judge and can’t change event to see another event.

Tech POV → currently only one person can handle the problems or errors from current apps (tech stack)

Find Out from Current Version

After get clear the problem to be resolved, I trying the application to know user POV and learn from current application. In the end, I found several concern when use the application.

Designing The Solution

First of all, I create new user action and user flow to starting designing the solution.

Then, I do some explorations of layout concept, make iteration and get feedback. This is the following are results of the design.

Guidance to Use The Platform

Create a new features as help center. Besides being able to see the platform guide, user can also contact our team if they need to help.

Detail Team Information with Scoring

Create scoring with floating navbar to make it easier for users to see detailed information before give a score.

Phase, Event Information and Leaderboards

Show the event and phase information and leaderboards team with summary score and can sort the data.

Before and After Mobile Version

Besides improvement with the problem, I also improve the color to matching with current DailySocial.id guideline.

After live, 2 client have use Scora for judge the competition (Curation & Final stage). Also, help business team to make an offer again for bundle package.

Lesson Learned

Indirectly I realized this project make help 3 team (Business, Event and Tech). From beginning I think, the project just move the platform from application to website. I also learn how create test case from end to end for do testing the platform. Because, the team haven’t dedicated QA. From this part make me increase the detailed oriented POV, and certainly it proven. After handover to tech some flow not have been implement (reset password). If make me to next project to involve the tech team from beginning. In the end of the project I also create the library kit.
